December marks a time of giving and also the birth month of my late father, Dr. John Douglas Salmon, who dedicated his life to the well being of others.   In the spirit of giving and in honor of my late father, Dr. John Douglas Salmon, who has dedicated his life to the well-being of others and who has been my great source of inspiration, my family has established the Dr. John Douglas Graham Salmon Award for Black medical students, administered through the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.

It was through his passing and his great legacy, that I was inspired to create Afro Flow Yoga.  I continue to strive for excellence daily through his message of courage and strength amidst adversity.  He taught us that if you believe in yourself, anything is possible!  –Leslie Salmon Jones
