4:00 pm - 7:00 pm | The Dance Complex Cambridge
In honor of Black History Month, please join in a special Afro Flow Yoga class which will be combined with the screening of segments from two documentary films: “The Healing Passage: Voices from the Water” by S. Pearl Sharp and “Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North” by Katrina Browne. These powerful films each portray journeys back to the past of slavery/slave trade – one by a black woman and one by a white woman. They create the platform to begin to unpack the vast racial pain and divide of the present moment.
Through the power of yoga, dance, story telling, dialogue and live drumming, we will tap the wisdom of the body, mind and spirit to guide us towards transformation across these divides. We will delve deeply into the soul of our personal journeys towards racial justice, racial healing and healing of our ancestors.
The workshop will be co-led by Leslie Salmon Jones and Katrina Browne with the musical blessings of Jeff Jones.
